Golob Landing
In 2003 the Port of Sunnyside approved a Master Development Plan for the 106-acre site located adjacent of East Edison Road in Sunnyside, Washington. This step was taken to help fulfill the Port's economic development mission within its district. By offering planned industrial sites to real estate market, the Port would generate income through land sales while enhancing the local economic conditions largely through the creation of new jobs. Later in 2003 the City of Sunnyside approved a Planned Unite Development ("PUD") designation for the Property. This land use action provides entitlements which allow the Port to develop the property in accordance with the Plan. The project started construction in July of 2008 and was completed the spring of 2009.

It was a cooperative effort by the Port of Sunnyside and the Miss Sunnyside Committee to refurbish it. The Miss Sunnyside Committee''s interest in the barn comes from their Miss Sunnyside Float being housed and the barn gives the Miss Sunnyside Committee, Parents, and Court a place to work on their float from year to year.
