New Port Rail Spur Project - July 18, 2018

The Port of Sunnyside will be undertaking a new rail spur project that will service the future home of Crop Production Services at 1101 Midvale Road. Bids were accepted on July 10, 2018. A total of 2 bids were received from Granite Construction and Rail Works. The contract for this project was awarded on July 11, 2018 to the lowest bidder, Rail Works. SIED Funds Granted for new Rail Spur Project - March 29, 2018

Varietal Beer Company Under Construction - October 11, 2017

Chervenell Construction has started renovating the future home of Varietal Beer Company located at 416 E. Edison Ave. The site is expected to be completed in the Spring of 2018. With plans to completely renovate the former home of the Funny Farm liquor store Varietal Beer Company along with the Port of Sunnyside are excited to watch the transformation happen over the next couple of months. Port inks deal with Ostrom's Mushroom Farms - June 20, 2017

The Port of Sunnyside has agreed to sell 25 acres of land at the corner of Duffy and Midvale Roads south of Interstate 82 to Ostrom's Mushroom Farms . The deal provides Ostrom's with an option to purchase an additional 20 acres at a later date. Ostrom's Mushroom Farms plans on opening a $25 million facility that will employ 200 employees, house 48 grow rooms and a compost facility. CERB funding Approved for Planning Grant - March 27, 2017

The Port of Sunnyside went before the Community Economic Revitalization Board (CERB) board on May 18, 2017 to request funding to develop a 32 acre site between exit 67 and exit 69. The funds will help finance investment in infrastructure to promote economic and industrial development of public land. The Port plans on developing the property for future commercial development... CERB Funding Approved for Brewery - January 25, 2017

On Thursday, January 19, 2017 the Washington State Community Economic Revitalization Board (CERB) approved a $700,000 loan/grant combination for the Port of Sunnyside to modify the building located at 416 E Edison Ave. The building will be the future home of Varietal Brewing Company which will be used as a brewery, tap room and bottling facility.
